I’m a Santa Rosa native growing up in what was a rural area. Post high school, following the tug of God on my heart, I attended San Jose Bible college followed by two years at Genesis, a discipleship training school here in Santa Rosa. Graduation day was also wedding day for Dawna and I. Soon after, I stepped into the construction trade where I continued for over 30 years, during which Dawna and I built our home and raised and homeschooled our three kids. Heidi, our fourth, only lived to just under four months of age.
After years of ministry as a lay person, God released me to begin stepping into full time ministry in 2008, a long held desire. Being SRCC’s executive pastor, and now lead pastor, blends the familiar (my years of construction and practical experience) with my passion – seeing God use his sons and daughters to touch and uplift the lives of those around them.
Dawna and I now have 6 grandkids between our two son’s families in Tahoe and Twain Harte. Our daughter and her husband are missionaries with YWAM in Papua New Guinea.
My place of renewal is being in God’s creation. I love backpacking in the high sierra.
