Our Beliefs
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing as three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, equal in essence, and distinct from the other.
Matthew 28:19
Jesus
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and reigns forever.
John 5:16-30
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is one with the Father and Son. He lives in every believer and guides us today. We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit are in effect today.
Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
Man
We believe men and women were created sinless in God’s image. However, sin entered the world when they ate the forbidden fruit (Genesis 3). As a result, we all possess a sinful nature, which leads every person to commit sin, thus separating us from God. We need a Savior.
Romans 3:23; 6:23; Ephesians 2:3
Scripture
We believe scripture consists of the 66 books contained in the Bible, and that God’s revelation for humanity is complete in those writings. We believe all the words in scripture are the very words of God and to disbelieve or disobey any word of Scripture is to disbelieve or disobey God.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, and not by any human actions. Christ’s death on the cross paid the penalty for every person’s sin. His work on the cross is complete, and we can add nothing to it. Through surrendering our lives to him, he grants us the gift of eternal life.
John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9
Sanctification
We believe sanctification is a lifetime process in which God transforms our attitudes and behavior to be in harmony with his will, and reflect the image of Christ.
1 Thess. 5:23; Hebrews 13:20-21
Baptism
We believe baptism is by immersion, and is for believers who understand their need for a Savior. It is critical in our faith journey. Baptism is an act of obedience and a public declaration of our belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
Romans 6:1-7

Nathan Gelsinger
Lead Pastor
Nathan Gelsinger
A graduate of Jessup University and Western Seminary, Nathan Gelsinger has been in ministry for 15 years. He currently serves as the Lead Pastor at Santa Rosa Christian Church, and previously gave pastoral leadership to Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos, California, and Beaverton Christian Church in Beaverton, Oregon.
He loves to preach the Word and encourage the congregation in taking their next step in following Jesus. He has been married since 2009 to Rachael, and together they have three children: Alice, Peter, and Isaac. They are also invested in a number of Christian nonprofits: Jessup University, Missions Of Hope International, Transforming The Bay with Christ, and Foster The City. It is their joy to be involved in Gospel Centered transformation in Santa Rosa, across the bay, and around the world. In their free time they enjoy exploring the outdoors with their kids, going on dates, reading, and woodworking.

Glen Wiemeyer
Executive Pastor
Glen Wiemeyer
After years of ministry as a lay person, God released him to begin stepping into full time ministry in 2008, a long held desire. Being SRCC’s executive pastor blends the familiar (his years of construction and practical experience) with his passion – seeing God use his sons and daughters to touch and uplift the lives of those around them.
Dawna and Glen now have 6 grandkids between their two sons’ families in Tahoe and Twain Harte. Their daughter and her husband are missionaries with YWAM in Papua New Guinea.
His place of renewal is being in God’s creation. He loves backpacking in the High Sierra.

Barney Cargile
Associate Pastor
Barney Cargile
Barney Cargile serves as Associate Pastor for Santa Rosa Christian Church. Besides preaching and teaching, he provides a bridge between SRCC and the community, as well as churches in our county. He helps strengthen relationships with pastors and churches, by meeting with church leaders regularly and preaching in congregations throughout our area. In addition, he serves hands-on in various ministries throughout Santa Rosa, such as Intrepid Ministries, Impact Ministries, and the Redwood Gospel Mission.
Barney and his wife Linda have two children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. They have lived in Sonoma County since 1991. Barney loves traveling, reading, and playing “monster” with his grandkids. He tries to base his life on John 15:5, where Jesus says, “If you remain in me, and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
